What is a nanoparticle?

A nanoparticle is usually defined as a particle that is between 1 and 100 nanometers in diameter.  Aqua-Yield® nanoliquid particles are between 10 and 100 nanometers.

Why Are Aqua-Yield® nanoliquid™ particles special?

Each Aqua-Yield® nanoparticle carries thousands of fertilizer ions or active ingredient molecules rapidly into the plant cell by a plant mechanism called endocytosis. While conventional products are only absorbed through diffusion and active transport, only nanoparticles are taken up via endocytosis.

Loading and unloading nanoparticles

Aqua-Yield® nanoparticles are designed to be loaded with any common fertilizer ion or active ingredient. The particles carry these materials into the plant and release them once inside.

Loading and Unloading Nanoparticles

Improves foliar and soil applications

When soil applied, Aqua-Yield® nanoparticles stay in solution or loosely cling to soil colloids making them able to deliver more nutrients to the plant. When applied by foliar application, Aqua-Yield® nanoparticles adhere to plant surfaces enhancing penetration through the cuticle. Both foliar and root applications will benefit from endocytosis.

Two patented technologies

NLT-R nanoparticle technology is engineered for driving chemistry into the plant (NanoPro®) while NLT-D technology is engineered for driving nutrition into the plant (NanoN+®). Once loaded, these technologies are ready to deliver your chemistry or fertilizer to the plant via endocytosis.

Below is a depiction of a NanoN+® nanoparticle that has been fully loaded by simply adding it to a tank mix with a conventional fertilizer.

How can I apply?

Aqua-Yield® products are easy to use and incorporate into your liquid program. They can be added to any boom spray, drip irrigation, in-furrow, fertigation or aerial application at a 2-6 oz. per acre rate.

Easy mixing guidelines

Aqua-Yield® products are intended to supplement any fertility program. For specific product mixing instructions refer to the label or website. Use water conditioners as necessary.

Q. Which nanoliquid™ products are right for my farm operation?

Aqua-Yield® products are easy to use and incorporate into your liquid program. They can be added to any boom spray, drip irrigation, in-furrow, fertigation or aerial application at a 2-6 oz. per acre rate.

A: Aqua-Yield® offers two basic, affordable products ready to mix with your inputs: NanoPro® is specifically designed for driving chemistry and NanoN+® is specifically designed for driving nutrition. Once loaded with your product, particles are then absorbed through a natural process called endocytosis. Endocytosis has proven to be a more efficient delivery method at the cellular level. With faster absorption and higher concentrations making it the most efficient delivery method. Aqua-Yield® also offers a full line of macro and micronutrient products for growers that are looking to drive specific nutritrion into the plant.

NanoPro

NanoPro® increases uptake of all crop protection products

By loading your target material (crop protection products) onto the NanoPro® particle, plants absorb the nanoparticle that is loaded with your crop protection products through endocytosis.

Tank Mixing

A compatibility jar test is always recommended.

Agitation should be constant through the entire tank mix process:

  1. Water plus conditioner*
  2. (to adjust pH of spray water)
  3. Add crop protection product (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides)
  4. Add 4 oz/ac NanoPro®
  5. Add surfactant*

*If water conditioner and surfactant are combined into the same product a chemical induction cone is recommended. NanoPro® and crop protection products should be combined together into the induction cone.

NanoN+

NanoN+® increases uptake of plant nutrient product inputs

By loading your plant nutrients onto the NanoN+ particle, plants absorb the nanoparticle that is loaded with your nutrients through endocytosis.

Liquid nutrient applications (UAN, APP, foliar NPKs and micros) include: banded, broadcast, and irrigation drip/ pivot.

  • Stable in all ambient conditions
  • Stable in solution for years
  • Won’t change characteristics of co-formulates from: salting out, settling, bloating, or incompatibilities
